Dein Logo von 2D zur 3D-Geometrie in FreeCAD 0.19 bringen!
16.10.2021 In diesem FreeCAD 0.19 Video zeigen wir direkt zwei geniale Funktionen. Zuerst wird ein Logo, das als 2D-Vektorgrafik aus Inkscape im SVG-Format vorliegt in FreeCAD importiert und mit den passenden Befehlen der Part und der Draft Workbenches so weiter verarbeitet, dass man daraus einen 3D-Körper machen kann. Nun wäre es ja zu einfach, dieses Objekt einfach nur gerade in eine Richtung zu Extrudieren - daher setzen wir uns ein spannenderes Ziel: Das Logo soll in einen gebogenen Deckel eingeprägt werden. Dazu müssen wir es zunächst auf die gebogene Oberfläche drauf projizieren und können es danach vereinigen oder vom Material des Deckels abziehen.

02.06.2021 Beginners guide to converting your logo to freeCAD Part 1 of 4. Do you have an image of your logo that you want to print on your 3D Printer or cut on your CNC machine. Or maybe you just want to create a 3D model of it. This tutorial is for you. We go from an image of your logo to a nice shinny textured logo in freeCAD 0.1.18 or 0.1.19. and above.
In video 1 we take your image of a logo, in this case a logo that I found on the internet for education purposes. This is a image in JPEG format. When then convert this to vector using inkscape's trace bitmap feature. We spend some time learning how to use this feature to get the best result then we export this out the a SVG.

Part 2 of 4. Learn how to import your logo into FreeCAD and fix some issues that could occur. We also learn a few technique in inkscape to manipulate the vector. We learn how to move the logo in the sketcher, deal with the green mess of B-Splines combs and control points so we can see the wood for the trees. We then use the part design workbench to pad / pocket our logo and we also show how to do the same in the part workbench.

Part 4 of 4 We finish the series with braking the logo apart and colouring the individual parts of your logo and texturing with a simple metal texture from within FreeCAD itself In the previous video we learnt how to refine the logo with bsplines and polylines retracing parts to allow for chamfer and fillet operations. In this video we brake the logo apart and apply colour and texture.
