06.01.2023 In August 2022 I installed FreeCAD 0.20. On this occasion I also wanted to install the new animation workbench AnimationFreeCAD via the addon manager, which according to the developer comment uses a modified version of PyFlow. However, I had some problems installing it. A fresh install helped. During the second installation, further scopes were offered for selection that were not offered during the first installation attempt. If you get the following error message after installation and start of the animation workbench, this video may help: No module named 'blinker'

Learn how to build and animate a scissor lift using a master sketch as a kinematic skeleton within Assembler 4 in FreeCAD. Easy for beginners and experts alike we learn how each edge of the sketches geometry can be constrained and set up to act as bones to attach the arms of the scissor lift to. We learn how to model the arms and reuse the same part to attach to our skeleton. We learn how to create a skeleton from a sketch and add local coordinate systems (LCS) to the sketch to allow us to attach and move the arms, this same technique can be used for other kinematic and inverse kinematic builds. We learn the techniques to prevent topological naming issues and learn how to constrain the sketch to allow for the scissor lift movement, copying and pasting sections of the sketch for easy reuse. We finish with animating the scissor lift without using any macros or code to drive the animation by just using the provided animate assembly tool

05.05.2021 Part 1 of 4: The first in a series of mechanic movement tutorials in Assembly 4. We start with a spring, bolt and washer assembly. We learn how to animate a spring, bolt and washer assembly that will contract and expand pushing and pulling the bolt back and forward.

Part 1:    • FreeCAD Assembly Animation Spring mov...   In the first video we introduce the course and how to model each part; bolt, washer and spring ready for animation. We use basic pad and pocket operations from the part design and learn how to sweep a profile across a path.
Part 2:    • Freecad Assembly Animation Spring mov...   In the second video we introduce the Assembler 4 workbench and learn about LCS (Local Coordinate systems), how to attach them and some problems you may encounter along with resolutions. We start building the model and linking the parts together in an assembly
Part 3:   • Freecad Assembly Animation Spring mov...   The third video looks at introducing a variable to control the animation along with some advice about how to resolve such problems as DAG errors. We learn how to use assembly4 animation tool to run the simulation.
Part 4:    • Freecad Assembly Animation Spring mov...   The fourth video will be released on scripting Sunday (If there is no link available please check back this Sunday night) and guides the viewer through creating some simple python code. This will allow the viewer to permanently store and recall the animation and build upon the knowledge needed to write macros.
